Breakaway 2010
FIRST Team 3313 Mechatronics is from Alexandria, MN and represents Jefferson High School. It was formed in response to a presentation at the school of FIRST Robotics teams from the Twin Cities. The team's primary sponsors are 3M and the PMMC (a group of local packaging manufacturing companies). 3313's first year of competition was the 2009-2010 challenge, Breakaway. The team's mentor for the first year was Todd Zarbok, an instructor at the Alexandria Technical and Community College across the parking lot from JHS. Jefferson's principal, Chad Duwenhoegger, helped facilitate and organize the team, while Todd supervised the team's build season progress. The fifteen team members worked hard to make their first season a success, and they triumphed! Team 3313 Mechatronics was awarded the Rookie Award of the 10,000 Lakes Regional and was selected to be a part of elimination rounds which they accepted with gracious professionalism. Although the team didn't qualify for the Championship, they had a great first time experience and couldn't wait for the next season to begin.
