FIRST Team 3313 Mechatronics began the 2011-2012 season with the goal of expanding the team, outreach of FIRST Robotics, and STEM education. The team created a blog, youtube channel, facebook group, and twitter account. After the graduation of four senior leaders, Mechatronics realized they needed to start recruiting younger students. So, for the first time, freshman were allowed to join the team. The 2011-2012 build season went great. The team did a great job of staying organized, keeping a positive attitude, while also having a lot of fun. This year's challenge, Rebound Rumble, had the entire team excited! We finished the robot on time and it looks great. Check it out here. We competed once again at the 10,000 Lakes Regional at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. We did not get picked for eliminations but did win the Entrepreneurship Award! The team continued their season goal of expanding their FIRST outreach in the community in the offseason. Team 3313 visited every elementary school in the district, along with many middle school classes. Mechatronics also held a Community Night event where they had different activities for the public and children to try out. We are incredibly excited for the next season.
