Week Zero 2017

Hey from team 3313 Mechatronics!

This past Saturday, our team ventured to Nevis, MN for Week Zero. We were excited to see all of the teams again! We were able to pinpoint the issues that we had with our bot, but with determination we have successfully improved our robot.

We have chosen the name of this years robot! His name is The Pope (Since he's super holy)

With our robot we will be able to shoot balls into the low goals, place the gear on the peg and climb the rope to board the airship! We have done some edits to the design. What are these changes you ask? Just see them for yourself!

Awesome job to all of the teams that were at the Nevis Week Zero! Hopefully we will be able to talk to the teams again at the Northern Lights Regional. The countdown to the Regional begins! We can't wait to see the teams at the Regional. Feel free to stop by our booth and say hi and/or ask any questions you may have!

See you all there!

The Countdown to Week Zero

Hello again from Team 3313 Mechatronics!

Sorry for the delayed post, everyone has been busy at work with their different jobs. As we come to the end of build season, posts should start being more frequent as work is completed.

We weighed our robot yesterday. As it turns out, the robot is overweight. Significantly. So we tore it apart and are currently in the process of putting it back together with lighter parts.
Here is the robot before we tore it apart.                The robot shooting the balls, as it would into the low goal.

We designed our robot to focus on climbing, putting the balls in the lower goal, and the successful transportation of the gears.

The programmers were testing out the drive train earlier, after finally being able to drive it wirelessly.

Pizza Ranch Fundraiser

Hello from Team 3313!

Yesterday we spent three hours busing tables at Pizza Ranch for tips. It started off slow, so we had time to learn what exactly we were doing without tripping over each other. Soon enough, it got busy, and we started rushing from table to table to clear the plates. Hands full of plates, with mashed potato and pizza sauce and gravy spilling onto our hands, we narrowly avoided running into little children to make our way to the sink.
During this experience, we met tons of cool people too. From talkative toddlers to eccentric opera singers, our night was never dull.

Hard at Work!

Greetings from Team 3313!
Today was a very busy day!

Everyone was hard at work today, with the robot's continued progress and the looming chairman's deadline just around the corner. We got a few extra hands to help with the chairman's work, and the programmers keep learning more and more.

The build team is busy building the frame and drive train.

Trip to Brenton Engineering!

Today we got out of school early to visit Brenton Engineering!

When we got there, we went right to a conference room to give our presentation. Each of us talked about the slide we had discussed, and it went really well!
After we showed our slideshow, we were taken on a tour of the facility. We got to see a bunch of the robots they were making and fixing, and we talked to some really cool people.

We decided to use the hour we had left at school to continue our work with the robot design and build.

Yesterday we took a team picture!!!

So it has Begun!

Hello again from Team 3313!!

Divide and conquer has been our motto for the past couple of days, and everyone has been super busy. Each member of the team has decided what part they are most interested in and have begun learning and working in each field!

The programmers have been learning how to program, thanks to the mentors and apps.
The build team is still taking apart last year's bot and furthering their progress on the robot for this year.
Chairmans have begun their projects, spending time figuring out what they need to do for each aspect and how they can get it done.

Everyone is super excited to continue building the robot and creating a unique experience!
